Though Afrobeat is usually (and rightfully) associated with the great Fela, Barcelona’s Alma Afrobeat Ensemble is a showcase of the genre’s evolution into the 21st century. Featuring musicians from all around the world, this collective stays true to Afrobeat’s classic spirit while also taking inspiration from M’balax and unique instrumentation to create a familiar yet internationally blended sound. Their sophomore album Life No Get Dublicate will be released November 11th.
